A distinctive venue designed and built by Hellenic Homes, Markakis Estate combines traditional Cretan architecture with modern functionality. Originally developed as a private villa, the estate was later adapted into a fully equipped event venue with accommodation, gardens and celebration areas. The core structure consists of two stone-built volumes, positioned for privacy, flow and a strong relationship to the surrounding olive groves.
Years after the initial construction, Hellenic Homes returned to renovate and enhance the space. The updates included reconfiguring interiors, extending the outdoor areas and improving event infrastructure to support larger gatherings. From the intimate chapel to the open-air square and rooftop terraces, every detail is designed to create an atmosphere of natural charm and discreet luxury.
Today, the estate accommodates up to four guests and serves as a unique venue for weddings, private stays and intimate events, all within the timeless setting of the Cretan countryside.

Location
Markakis Estate is located in Embrosneros, a quiet village in the municipality of Apokorona, southeast of Chania. The property enjoys open views of olive groves and surrounding hills, while remaining within driving distance of Chania, Kournas Lake and the beaches of Georgioupoli.
This rural positioning offers a rare combination of privacy, calm and local access. Guests benefit from nearby tavernas, historical sites and nature walks, making the estate ideal for those seeking a peaceful but connected base in Western Crete.
